  UNHS Grant Award

The Montana State Universal Newborn Hearing Screening (UNHS) Program is responsible to conform to the State mandate to ensure that newborn hearing screening and reporting is completed, as well as the reporting of audiologic assessments conducted on babies who have not passed their newborn hearing screening. Gold Systems recently collaborated with the UNHS to submit a grant proposal to the federal Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program for funds to expand the UNHS software system to include a community portal.

The UNHS was awarded a grant of approximately $300,000 to be disbursed over the next three years. Gold Systems has begun working with the UNHS team to design a web-based community portal where outreach workers and healthcare providers can make referrals and access data about their clients and patients. The first phase is expected to begin on October 1, 2008 with deployment in Spring of 2009.
